I *Can* Has Maths!

I *Can* Has Maths

It has recently hit me that I need to re-learn my mathematics from basic arithmetic on up. So, I have been searching for books that will help me with that. I am currently trying out Teach Yourself -  Complete Mathematics. I am going over some basic arithmetic in chapter one, and I definitely need the overview. It kind of bothers me that I am having difficulty doing this basic arithmetic with pen and paper rather than with a calculator. However, I am using a calculator to check my answers, as well as the answer key at the end of the book.
I think I am going to need to also pick up a workbook, though. The sections are short, to the point overviews of everything, rather than the dragging in-depth crap that I hated and got overly bored with. The downside to this is that the little exercises and tests at the end of each section are short and there isn’t a whole lot of practice to be had for each lesson.
Something tells me it is sad, though, that while reviewing chapter one, which is relatively easy, my brain is having “ow” moments. I haven’t had to think of this shit for a long time…
