Seductive Fear
Try to suppress the fear
Feel it choke you
Feel it try to smother your breath
You are powerless against it
And it galls you, doesn’t it?
To be beholden to this fear,
Helpless before its enormity
Feel as it consumes you
Body, and what passes for your soul
Embrace it and allow it inside
Let it become part of you, change you
My fearful fear-filled
Young little lamb
My cowering newly made child
Feel the fear inside of you
And give into despair.

There are times when fear seems to be a default setting. It is hard to push past that and emerge on the other side of experience.
