Shadows Made of Light

Illuminated in darkness
My soul shines brightly
Casting the shadow of light
Upon the landscape around me

People mistake me for
A creature of light and life
Because the shadow I cast
Brings life to them
But there is no life without light
There is no light without darkness
And as there is death in the dark
So it is in the light
Life and creation demands both

I am a creature of darkness
My shadow casts light
I am death in life
Life in death
And all the shades in between
