Vanity Plate Holder Fail
Whoever decided
Vanity plate holders like
“Caution, putting on makeup”
Were even remotely appropriate
Ought to be shot on sight

Form: thought bubble
I wrote
this little poem/thought on a recent road trip and it still manages to make me
squick a little. It puts me in mind of bumper stickers announcing that the
driver of the car in front of you will slam on their brakes if you don’t get
off their ass. I find things like that to be both funny and offensive. I
wonder, though, if the person with this vanity plate holder, or that type of
bumper sticker I mentioned, were to get into an accident, would they be held at
fault? If someone rear ended someone with the bumper sticker, then, wouldn’t
the fact that they announced it proclaim their intent? Wouldn’t any claim they
make then be considered insurance fraud? As for the little chica putting on
makeup, if she smashes into someone, or drifts into another lane, she already
has her proclamation of guilt by distraction.
Perhaps
I am being overly judgmental, but seriously, what the fuck are these people
thinking? Why can’t they just put the usual kind of offensive bumper stickers
on their car, like, “My other car is a broomstick,” or the fucking Jesus fish?
