An interesting idea occurred to me just before I stepped into the shower. As those of you reading may know, I have been kicking around the idea of May being the month of Haiku here at the Blossoming Ambitions Blog. I have a variant as a long term idea for a poetry serial (that will take me a bit to put together, it will *not* be done in a month).
How about telling a story done in a serial Haiku style? Each one of the Haiku must stand on its own and make its own drop of sense and wonder, but when strung together, each Haiku would tell a whole story. I was thinking of also perhaps doing margin illustrations to accompany it, maybe in charcoal or oil and chalk pastels, to serve to deepen the story and the emotional response it can evoke.
It’s an idea, and one that would definitely be a challenge to execute both because of the poetry involved and the art. I think the other challenge will be to come up with a story that will be able to contain it.
Perhaps I will execute it after the month of Haiku, since I have decided that I am *definitely* putting that idea into effect. Or, I will start it during the month of Haiku.
