Sparks

A spark in a kiss
Still happens after years
Constantly in each other’s company.
Our chemistry is still explosive
And the heat is rising.
Electricity arcs with many a touch
Just to show that we still have … it.
And when we are old and gray
In the twilight of our lives
It will still be there:
That chemistry.
That spark.
That certainty.

I wrote that sometime in 2008. For some reason, at the time, I didn't believe in dating my material. I only know the date because I peeked at the "last modified" before I clicked it.

This poem is as true now as when I wrote it. Tristan and I (the man seen choking me with a chain in my current profile photo) still spark when we kiss and when we touch; actual electrical sparks. I admit, it is fairly funny, and we laugh almost every time.

All I can say, Sparky, is keep on laughing!
