These muted pastels
Color the most harsh
Landscapes on this planet
How can life be here?
Dry, dessicated, barren
Life will always find a way
Low gray clouds heavy
Pregnant with a misty rain
Backlit, glowing with sunlight
Rain, a false promise
Threat turned out to be idle
At least cloud provide cool shade
Shade, welcome respite
From what would be otherwise
A hot, dry, sunny desert
