Lake Tahoe
When I first saw the sunlight
Gild the waves, choppy with wind
With a backdrop of rain
I fell in love, and knew,
That I would have to come back
Again and again.
I come again, and the snow falls
The contrast of light and dark
The water looks inviting, even though
I know that it is, in fact, bitterly cold.
And I know I need to come
Again and again.
I see the shores gilded by dawn light
It takes my breath away, this view
Every time I look at it,
I fall in love with the lake
Over and over again
This is a place, I think
That I could raise children
And the thought fills me with delight.
Picturing them swimming
In this lake
This love of my life.
And I must return over and over and over…

I have fallen in love with a location, and I love it more every time I come up here. I look forward to the day that I can bring my sweeties to this place.
