Mood Music

I regularly use music as a mood altering agent. Different types of music can help me adjust my mood and behavior to fit a situation or help me diffuse an excess of one emotion or another. Of course, the effect of different types of music depends on the starting mood.
For instance: When I am angry and I put on some Pantera, I scream along to the lyrics, or even jerk rhythmically to the beat. Even after one song, I feel better. However, if Pantera comes on when I am tired and angry, it can actually help soothe me to sleep, or if I am sans the angry, it can pump me up and get me ready for whatever I need to do (like driving.).

Here are some of the bands that I listen to, and what they do for me. There are many more bands that I love than on this short list, but these are the ones that pop immediately to mind:

Monster Magnet (relaxation/energy boost/creativity boost)
Soundgarden (creativity boost/evening out a depression/calming and relaxation)
 Pantera (anger processing/relaxation)
 Ludacris (energy boost)
 Moody Blues (creativity boost/relaxation)
Earth Wind and Fire (creativity boost/energy boost)
She Wants Revenge (creativity boost/relaxation/amorous boost)
Guns n Roses (Creativity boost/relaxation)

The list goes on and on and on…

Music is essential to what passes for my sanity. My need for music is somewhat of an obsession. Without this noise in pleasing form in my life, it would be less rich, and less livable. My soundtrack, though varied and strange, helps me boogie through each day.

I think we just became best friends, lol. I use music in the same way.

When I'm in a relaxed, don't give a shit mood I'll listen to country. When I'm angry, mad, upset I need some metal or something hard and loud like Papa Roach, Linkin Park, etc. When I'm in a good mood and it's a nice sunny day I like to listen to rap (mostly old school) or some current hits.

I love listening to Phantom of the Opera when I get a chance to take a nice long, hot bath. (In case you cared, lol)

@theladya: Hehe. When I am making jewelry, I love to listen to mashups. One of my favorites is a mashup of Ludacris' "Move Bitch," mixed with Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." Sorry I haven't been in touch much lately (I am CrazyChainltd). Things have been, well, crazy.
